Low Intensity Residential Program for Men

 

PHASE TWO

Phase Two is a clinically managed low-intensity residential treatment program for men who have completed intensive residential treatment at NCTR’s Phoenix Program. This program gives patients extended time in treatment while also allowing them to adjust to day-to-day living in recovery. Patients attend outpatient treatment at our nearby Counseling Center, receive supportive services, and are encouraged to seek employment or volunteer in the community as they progress in the program and as their schedule permits. Phase Two is designed to increase participants’ chances of recovery success.

This nationally accredited program includes the following services:

  • Trauma Informed Care

  • Medication Assisted Treatment

  • Use of Evidence Based Practices 

  • 24/7 Care

  • Individual Counseling

  • Group Counseling

  • Daily Exercise

  • Psychoeducation

  • Additional Medical and Mental Health Care as Needed

  • Family Involvement as Indicated

  • Linkage to Community Recovery Support Systems

Leadership

for Phase II

Cathy Dooley, LCSW, CSAC

Clinical Manager

  • Since 2009, Cathy Dooley has been the Clinical Manager at NCTR’s Phoenix Program, a residential treatment program for up to 80 men. In this position, she oversees clinical operations and supervises clinical staff. She joined NCTR (then Vanguard Services) in 1992. While at NCTR she has served in multiple roles, including as program director for Demeter House, NCTR’s residential program for women. Cathy is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University.

Gladys Brown, AGNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner Manager

  • Gladys Brown is the Nurse Practitioner Manager at Demeter House, NCTR’s residential treatment program for women. She is responsible for ensuring that all patients receive optimal medical care during their journey to recovery. She is a board-certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner (AGNP-BC) with 12 years of experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder services. Gladys holds a Master of Science in nursing degree from Spring Arbor University in Michigan.

Abdul Malike, DNP-FNP-BC

Medical Manager

  • As a Nurse Practitioner Manager, Abdul manages all nurse practitioner services at NCTR’s Phoenix Program men's residential treatment program. Abdul has a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from George Mason University and 11 years of experience in the medical field. His most recent experience before joining NCTR in 2022 was with Aspire Healthcare, where he served as a field nurse practitioner. “I am excited by the variable nature of my job, as well as being able to change the lives of vulnerable patients.”
